Learn from my pain.
On my very first multicity trip, we traveled from Lisbon, Portugal through Europe to Amsterdam.

I ended up having to buy a jacket in Amsterdam due to the cold.

While this was back in 2012, part of my packing philosophy now (if I intend on shopping) is to bring a few pieces of clothing I am willing to trade or leave behind to be able to make space when one still needs to travel light.
Learn about the freedom of traveling with nothing, and how to get an emergency passport from my recollect of a trip to Italy in 2016. This one has it all- how thieves can intercept the wireless locking transmission from your key fob to break into your car and steal all of your stuff without a trace, and why Italy is not the worst place to shop for clothes.
